Today's challenge: hydration, it's kind of cold and the sun's not out...maybe motivation

Actual fitness: 2 1/2-mile run, 60 minute leg work-out, my abdominal routine (want to shift a few days of my weight training to the weekend so as to lighten the load during the week)

Note on no sweet-n-low: Did I mention that my stomach hurt on Friday's run? I did have to use the bathroom afteward, but starting Monday, I'll cut down to one coffee a day.

Note on picture: My mom picked up this coffee to-go mug for me at a specialty shop somewhere and gave it to me for my birthday. I love it even though the statement doesn't really describe how I feel in the morning. I decided to place a pumpkin in the background.

A Little Update

Hi, folks!

Well, it's November 1st. Officially the last day of my six week dieting attempt to drop 12 pounds in six weeks. As it turns out I've dropped half of that. So, I shall continue to pursue my goals to lose those next six pounds.

After my 5K race last Saturday, I had planned on racing a 5K this morning. But as it turns out, I will be unable to attend this particular race. My daughter had also planned to race in the one mile "fun run", but now that will not happen either.

Her and I continue to weight lift at the gym together four days a week. Our schedule for working out may change now that she has committed herself to one of the sports in her local high school. She "tried out" for the school's dance team and was accepted. Practices for her start on Tuesday.
She has had ten years of dance experience, but had not done any dancing in two years. For this try-out, she had to make up her own dance routine, which she showed us after she made it and we were impressed.

Anyway...I'll have to tell you all, this one pound gain is extremely annoying. It could be my imagination, but I actually think I can feel on my body where the extra weight went. Can we say belly fat?

But, honestly, this is one of the reasons I appreciate having this blog. I weigh myself everyday. It was hard to meet up with the scale yesterday morning after the previous night's transgressions. When I made the commitment to daily weigh-ins, I knew that one of the side -benefits was that if I ate bad the night before and then, saw it on the scale, I would be more careful the next day to make the pound go back where it came.

  1. Bummer about the 5k. Hope everything is okay there.

Love the mug. Very snarky. ;)

Don't let the pound get you down. You'll have it gone in no time.

    Have a great week!
