Today's challenge: getting in my work-outs, need to stop snacking on my kids' goldfish crackers when I give them the crackers.
Actual fitness: 3-mile lunch run, later 2 1/2 mile run with triceps and chest work-out, leg work-out and abdominals
Note on no sweet-n-low and no caffeine: No headaches or upset stomach lately, but I am struggling with trying to get enough sleep so I'm not tired during the day.
Note on picture: Finally tried a bite of tilapia last night. I'd cooked this up with some brown rice for my husband for the last few nights. Since I'm out of chicken breasts today, I'll be eating tilapia and brown rice for my snacks. Tilapia or fish, in these four ounce portions are only 80 calories and you get 19 grams of protein. Compare that to a 3 oz of chicken breast that gives you about 21 grams of protein and is 105 calories.

I prepare tilapia once a week. It's a very mild, fleshed fish and doesn't stink the house up too much. It's so mild, that I usually really spice mine up as our family has taste buds that need heat after living in Asia. Sometimes I use tilapia for fish wraps with a spicy salsa and avacado. My daughter prefers tilapia to meat any day! Me...I'd rather a steak! :) Thanks for your recent comments...I feel like you're a real "kindred spirit". Happy Thanksgiving!!! You have so much to be thankful for...those kids...adorable blessings. Think of me at your meal and only eat to just before full...NOT A BITE MORE!!!! Enjoy every bite mama!
ReplyDeleteI love tilapia. A new favorite is Basa. It's even milder tasting than tilapia.
ReplyDeleteI eat fish often ... I find it to be filling and a fat burner.
Happy Thanksgiving!
What did you think of the tilapia? I actually hate seafood, but I have heard this has a less "fishy" taste. I might be interested in trying it.
ReplyDeleteI tried Tilapia for the first time ever last night. I loved it!! I've been trying to cut calories because I'm such a meat eater. I figure if I had it twice a week, I might actually lose some weight. It's low in mercury too since they're vegetarians. Wish me luck!
