Hi folks! I'm at it again. I'm going for another 20 pound loss in ten weeks. I've recently had another baby, a little girl, she is now five months old and I'm ready to drop some weight.

316 Push-ups, Touchy Stomach...And Dried Fruit

Hi, everyone!!
I just wanted to thank you all for taking the time to stop by. As some of you may already know, I am hosting a blog give-a-way from Newman's Own Organics. It's really easy to sign up for a chance to win a bunch of good food.
Here is a nice close-up of the dried cranberries, which is in the give-a-way box.
I actually had a handful of these last night. The first thing I noticed is that they were not tart at all. They had actually a mild sweet taste. Curious, I looked at the ingredients: organic cranberries, organic cane sugar and organic sunflower oil.
"Oops! Cane sugar is sugar. I'm not suppose to eat that."
But the dried apricots, on the other hand...
I can eat.
And let me tell you they are very tasty. Don't let the darkened one in the back put you off. My husband actually broke into this bag before I did because he wanted some quick energy for a work-out.
He's not usually a dried fruit eater, but he thought these tasted very good.
Dried apricots are also in the give-a-way box.
If you haven't signed up for the give-a-way, do so here.

Other than that, how is everyone doing today?
It's been kind of a sleepy/tired day for me. Starting yesterday I noticed that I had a little nausea. Then today a few hours after my coffee...I felt tired-er and more nauseous. I had another round of coffee made, but suddenly it didn't look good. So, instead, after lunch I took a two hour nap.
I've noticed that I get full faster if that makes any sense. And of all things...I don't feel like eating my salads. Maybe it's the oil on the salad that is turning me off. But for the last two or three days, I've only eaten one salad during the day versus my regular two salads. I think it just may be too much to eat at one time: a big honking salad, 1/2 cup of brown rice and a 4 oz chicken breast. I feel absolutely stuffed like I'm going to burst after eating all that food. So, I'm thinking about eating my salad with some chicken during one of my mid-morning or mid-afternoon snacks.
The last two days have been great nights at the gym. Tonight I spent wayyy too much time talking to my pregnant sister-in-law before heading out to the gym tonight. She's the one who ran in three five mile races while pregnant in these last three months. She's 21 weeks along.
I still managed to get to the gym and push out another record setting round of push-ups. I did nine sets of 30, 30, 37, 37, 30, 30, 26, 26, and 70. That's a total of 316 push-ups. Two days ago my best was 293. Also, what's really interesting is that when I did as many as I could do last Sunday, the most I could do was 70, yet I was able to do 70 in this last set. I don't get it. Am I just not warmed up enough.
My daughter suggested I just go for a hundred push-ups in the gym without the pressure of the camera on me. Who knows.
I am beginning to feel like the freak pregnant women with Herculean-like strength, though. Ha, Ha. Who would have thought I'd do this many push-ups while pregnant?
I also attempted my four sets of six pull-ups tonight but wimped out and couldn't get them all done. I did 6, 6, 5, 4.
Well, I'm glad everyone is signing up for the give-a-way. I might be trying out the popcorn tomorrow night. Maybe I'll put some olive oil on mine, some Newman's Own Organic Olive oil, that is. Ha. I hope I don't sound like a salesman.
Have a nice weekend everyone!!
Sincerely,
Sunshine Mama

  1. I would LOVE to be included in the drawing, Sunshine Mama! Thanks! Everything looks great, you pick! :)

Thanks for stopping by my blog also! And for the encouragement that I CAN bake healthy for my family! HEEHEE! I have done some health-ish baking and I do need to keep learning. What do you use for sweetners?

    Blessings!

  2. Good morning over there! How is mama-to-be today? Sounds like you are one strong pregnant woman. That is pretty amazing. Although, I'm not ready for any little sunshinemeg's running around (scary thought!) I bet there are women who read your blog that find much inspiration here.

Hoping to get in a long run today and try to make "healthy chicken pot pie." You actually gave me the idea with all your new healthy tricks. Did you know that some restaurant chicken pot pie has close to 850 calories a serving?!?! Yeah, gross! Instead of using the pre-made unhealthy crust, I will be making my own with whole wheat flour. Also going to load it with veggies: carrots, peas, broccoli, onion, peppers, and whatever else looks good. Going to skip the potato to avoid extra carbs. Picked up some fat free organic chicken broth. We shall see what happens!

Happy weekend to your Wisconsin bunch from the east coast = )

  3. Sleep well my friend. I am glad you are taking your naps. It's amazing how the body changes when the little one starts to grow.

  5. maybe you need to do a couple hundred pushups before you go for the 100-straight ;)

i am really intrigued by your eating-lifestyle. (not gonna call it a diet!) i know you've touched on it before on here, so i'll look back over old posts, but would you mind emailing me the basics? i know counting calories worked for me in the past... but i've been struggling with enforcing that again. i think it's 'cause i've gotten too good at 'cheating' and not feeling guilty for eating over my daily allotment. so, maybe i'll try out 'clean-eating'?
