Join Me For Another 10 Weeks! This is the first week of ten weeks starting October 22, 2012

Hi folks! I'm at it again. I'm going for another 20 pound loss in ten weeks. I've recently had another baby, a little girl, she is now five months old and I'm ready to drop some weight.

Happy October 1st

Hi everyone!

Happy October!!!

Just wanted to let you all know that as of right now I am not languishing with the stomach flu. I woke up this morning and I feel fine.

I actually felt well enough last night to make it to the gym last night and logged in my second work-out of the week.

It's a beautiful day here in God's country and I have been taking pictures in anticipation of Picasa finally recognizing that I have extra space so that I can post some pictures.

How is everyone's Friday going? Does anyone have any fun plans for the weekend?

We just got back from seeing Gilbert Brown speak at the local YMCA alongside several other former Greenbay Packer players.

Our eight-year-old son stood up and asked a question. He's in flag football and he explained how he threw an interception in a game and what should he do. It was his first time ever playing quarterback and also his first game. He said, "I'm just having a little trouble being quarterback."

A former quarter back, Lynn Dickey, stood up and joked with him that since the other team made a touchdown with the throw, he should blame it on someone else.

But joking aside, he said that every throw isn't going to be perfect, but that you need to keep your eyes focused on the goal and to keep trying for it. You have to be responsible for you.

Other team members kept referring back to my son's question throughout the other questions.

Kicker Chris Jackie said to Dandy Lion, "The best thing you can do is pick your head up and keep going. Don't lose your confidence on one play."

In one of the very few references to Brett Farve, running back Dorsey Levens says, "If numbers don't lie, he's one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL. He's thrown more interceptions than any other quarterback in the game. So don't be afraid to fail."

Don't be afraid to fail.

Don't be afraid to fail.

Don't be afraid to fail.

Don't be afraid to fail.

Don't be afraid to fail.

Everything those guys said to my son can be applied to us. Just because you threw an interception and the other team scored a touchdown...just because you overate and gained a pound...doesn't mean you should let that dictate the way the rest of your game is played.

Be encouraged folks! It's the first day of a new month.

As Chris Jackie said, "Pick your head up and keep going!"

Have a good one!!

Sincerely,

Sunshine Mama

  1. Sunshine Mama! What a cool post. You know I love it! I can't wait to share it with Greg tonight. I have been thinking about you so much. I am thinking good thoughts and sending them you and baby boys way. Sounds like you are plugging away and keeping your head up. What great advice they gave your son. I wish I could have gone to that. I love the YMCA too.

Great to "catch up" with you. I'm sorry to hear you were so sick. What a mess! Keep getting good rest.
