Hi folks! I'm at it again. I'm going for another 20 pound loss in ten weeks. I've recently had another baby, a little girl, she is now five months old and I'm ready to drop some weight.

First Ever...FANTASY FOOD FRIDAY

Good evening everyone!

It's Friday and welcome to my first ever..."Fantasy Food Friday!"

You may all feel free to blame my pregnancy for this idea that I cooked up just a few days ago. Ever since I've been pregnant and trying to eat healthy, I find myself fantasizing about foods that I want to eat...or used to eat, but really, really shouldn't eat.

And, so, since we are all ex-food addicts to a certain extent, I thought maybe it would be fun to take one day a week to talk about the foods we fantasize about eating...whether it be good or bad for us.

To kick things off...I thought I'd share a food (if you can really call it that LOL) that I used to eat a lot of. Swiss cake rolls!!

They come 12 in a box with two to a wrapper. I prefer these to Hostess Ho Ho's for a few reasons. First of all...I believe the only way to eat these things is to peel off the chocolate first. Swiss Miss has chocolate that is firm enough...that it pulls easily away from the cake underneath.

Hostess, on the other hand, it's chocolate is flaky and crumbles too easily so you can't pull away the chocolate. The best part of the chocolate, by the way, is underneath where the rolled portion meets the unrolled part. Anyway... after the chocolate has been eaten...

You unroll the cake part and use your finger or your tongue, if you prefer, to lick off the cream inside. You do this until all the cream is gone, and then you can eat the cake part last.
It's probably been a good two years since I've actually had one of these. But they are definitely on my list for fantasy foods that I would eat if I wasn't worried about maintaining my weight.
So, what is one of your fantasy foods?
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
But today, besides living in a little food fantasy-land, I made two of these healthy spinach salads topped with carrots, broccoli, tomato, cucumber, radish, green pepper and 1 tbl of Newman's Own oil and vinegar dressing.

That dressing magnifies the flavors of the vegetables and makes them taste so good.

Tonight my husband cooked me up a 5 ounce steak that he picked up last night, and I ate it with a half cup of brown rice.
Delicious.

After my arm work-out tonight, I threw a scoop of chocolate protein powder and four ice cubes into eight ounces of water...

And got this frothy confection.
I put it in another new glass that my husband also picked up last night.

I cooked up 1/3 cup of oatmeal mixed with stevia and a crap load of cinnamon to eat with my shake.
And, I put it in one of my new bowls.
Hot oatmeal on a blustery night like tonight definitely hit the spot.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
So, that's my story and I'm sticking to it.
Today was a good day.
I managed to actually fall asleep during my nap time today.
I drank more than 1/2 a gallon of water.
My calories were in line.
My weight lifting work-outs are done for the week.
AND....
I got something in the mail today...
Something that I've been waiting for...
that I had specially made for me...
It sparkles...
It's soft...
It's really pretty...
You guessed it...
It's my posing suit!!!
Pictures tomorrow
(the suit...not me in the suit)
(like Daddy Rainmaker (or me...lol) would go for that)

Other than that...I think I'm running out of colors to use..ha, ha.
Does anyone have any exciting Easter plans?
I'm still debating what to do with an Easter egg hunt for the kids...
All that candy, though...is not good..
We'll see!
Have a nice weekend!
Sincerely,
Sunshine Mama

  1. I have fantasy foods for sure! One of my former favorites is Chubby Hubby ice cream (Ben & Jerry's). It is vanilla ice cream with fudge and peanut butter in the ice cream and it's full of fudge covered pretzels that are filled with peanut butter. OMG! I think I am drooling just typing about it.

I laughed at your comment to me about having a baby. I am way to old for that. :) Next year I get to do college visits with my oldest, so I don't think diapers are anywhere in my future (unless it's for grandkids way, way, way in the future-haha). I am glad that you are feeling so good though! :)

  2. Wow, I can't imagine that swiss roll would taste good to me right now.

I'm saving my fantasy for the bedroom (I'm fantasizing that somebody will go in there, collect up all my dirty clothes and run a few loads of laundry).

  3. Melissa totally nailed the best ice cream flavor in existence...regarding the snack cake genre, I'd have to take Suzi-Q's over the ho-hos/swiss cake rolls...way more filling and the cake is so much more moist.

Chicago Deep Dish pizza from Unos...only in Chicago, not one of their chains. Pepperoni specifically.

  4. I never have tried half of those treats out of boxes. None of it ever looked good and I have never been a fan of chocolate so that helps me stay away.

Right now my fantasy of food is to much.German food just doesn't do it for me. Can't wait to see the suit.

  5. Oh...and if you aren't sick of me being such a fan, I gave you an award. I hope you'll accept it! Thanks for your continued blogging.

  6. Wait. Are you trying to convince me Little Debbie's are better than the Hostess Ho Ho? I think not.

Personally, I thought Ring Dings were much better.

  7. Those packaged cakes aren't very big in Canada. We sell cakes like them, but I seriously have never tried a packaged cake or roll in my life! I think they're bigger in the USA.

    I can't wait to see your suit...Daddy Rainmaker's fantasy!!! :)
