Today's challenge: Today I felt stressed. I'm researching some new fitness goals, and today's diet felt unfocused and lacking a strong purpose. Also, I think I could have better warded off the snacking by some stronger resolve on my part.

Actual fitness: 50 minute leg work-out, abdominals and push-ups for the 100 push-up challenge

Note on knees: I didn't run today to give them a little break. But I think they feel great when I run. I will note that there is a spot on my right knee that, for example, when I'm doing walking lunges, I can't let that knee hit the floor because there is still a tender spot on the knee cap. If it persists, I may just get that checked out. I question if that will go away. It seems to be a different pain than the bruised ligaments around the knee cap. And, it doesn't hurt unless pressure is applied.

Note on picture: Just a fun self-portrait from Sunday afternoon.

100 Push ups For 100 Married Months

Good Monday, everyone!

I'm sure you have all heard about the 100 push up challenge that was going around the blog sphere a few months back. Basically, it's a program that takes you through six weeks of push ups work-out to work up to being able to crank out 100 push ups all at once.

As a I mentioned awhile back, my husband and I will be married for 100 months on February 7. A few weeks ago I said to my husband, "Hey, I know what we can do to celebrate 100 months of marriage? Let's do 100 push-ups together!!"

He thought it was a great idea. But that was two weeks ago, and we haven't started the work-outs yet and it's only four weeks until our 100 month anniversary.

But, I may just be in luck. You see, I an already do a fair amount of push ups due to the chest workout that I do. I can already crank out four sets of 15 full push-ups. That's 60 separated out.

If you look at the "initial push up test" that they have you do, if you can do more than 20 push-ups starting out, you can skip the first two weeks and start up on the week 3 of the six week program.

So, tonight, my husband and I are going to go for broke on our push-up test and try to get in more than 20 push ups. I'm personally thinking I can maybe put out 30. We'll see.

I'll let you know tomorrow.

  2. Urg, I sucked at the 100 pushups. I have got to be more consistant with my upper body strength training instead of once or twice a week. ;)

Congrats on getting back to running. I just know you have got to feel better being able to run again. Glad the knee is so much better.

    Have a great week!

  3. Doing the pushup's and the effort it is going to take is going to be opposite of what has happened in our real life marriage. The first few months (pushups) were the hardest and the last 20 to 40 have been getting easier and easier.Ok their still hard but I hope that's the case when I do the challange. The last 20 or so being easier than the 1st twenty. :) From the clipboard of Daddy Rainmaker

  4. Oooh, I can't do push-ups for the life of me. Not even the girl kind, on your knees. My lower back is so bad I can't hold myself up... not to mention my core muscles. I should start doing wall push ups, at least.

Congrats on your race! I can't believe the temps you have; is that normal!?

  5. Go Sunshine Mama! Go Daddy Rainmaker! I attempted to do the push up challenge and did not follow through. It is one work out that just fizzled out. If you go through it and like it, maybe that will be the kick I need to try again. I was doing the push up challenge right after I got done with the 30 Day Shred, so I might have just needed a break.

Let us know and good luck to both of you.

PS - I think that that is a very cute idea for 100 months. Congrats = )
