Today's challenge: My snafu was with my son's ice cream sandwich. That cost me 150 calories. I'd be at 1,400 if I had left that alone. Maybe next time I just need to walk away. The thing is, I didn't intend to eat most of his sandwich. I was just taking a few bites of the "sandwich" part of it because he doesn't eat that part. Then, I was going to help him eat the vanilla ice cream part of it. But after a bit he lost interest...and by then, ha, ha I had gained interest.
Actual fitness: chest and triceps workout, abdominals. I have been working out with my husband and it has been a lot of fun. Starting tomorrow we will be getting up early to go to the gym.
Get this. I'm setting the alarm for 5:15 and then we'll try to get there by 5:30, weight lift for an hour and then be home for breakfast with the family. So, I'm trying to get to bed early.
Did I mention that that is really early for me? Hopefully with us both committed to doing it, it won't be so bad.
Note on pictures: I saw some crumpets at the store. I have only heard about them in conjunction with the English and their tea. So, curiosity got the best of me, plus, they are only 60 calories a piece. I started by toasting this one. I took it out before it was done toasting because I was concerned it might burn. But if I eat this again, I'll toast it longer. Because I did that, there wasn't a crunchy feel to it. I put Smart Balance light butter, sugar and cinnamon on it. I don't believe there is any sugar in the ingredients.
Then, I had a bite.
This is what the texture looks like after you bite into it. It's spongy. I might try eating one more crumpet before I just give them away to the kids. I'll see if toasting it more makes it taste better. But, spongy...just wasn't working for me.

ReplyDeletelol I thought it was one of your pancakes but wondered why it was so light colored.
ReplyDeleteIf that doesn't work for you I've got a ww scone recipe that I'll be posting later today. I want to tinker one more time today before posting because I think they need just a touch more moisture.
Hope you have a great week - enjoy working out w/your hubby.
