Hi folks! I'm at it again. I'm going for another 20 pound loss in ten weeks. I've recently had another baby, a little girl, she is now five months old and I'm ready to drop some weight.

More Gym Talk...

Good evening folks!

Hope your week is progressing well.

I have another gym story that I've been sitting on for a few days waiting for the right time to share it with you all.

So, you all know that I worked out when I was pregnant. In fact, I managed to get in a good leg work-out the day before I went into labor. About ten weeks before I had Mr. Lovely, I cleaned up my diet and ended up leaning up and feeling great.

Well, the other day, during one of the morning sessions where my husband and daughter went to the gym for their usual morning work-out, they ran into the YMCA basketball coach.

During the course of conversation with my husband and daughter he began lauding me and praising my work-out attitude. I smiled when I heard his praises and knew that he was probably recalling seeing me when I was at the gym when I was looking like this...except probably a little bigger because this photo was taken when I still had four or so weeks to go. Our eight-year -old son was standing nearby listening to the conversation.

However, he wasn't smiling when he heard what the YMCA coach had to say about me.

In fact, our very literal-minded son adamantly stated, "That's not a very nice thing to say!"

What did the coach say?

Well... he very effusively called me an "animal."

*pause for chuckles*
----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Well, this "animal-like" Sunshine Mama hit the gym again tonight and churned out a 60 minute biceps and back work-out. I motored through a 2 1/2 mile run and I haven't added up my calories, yet but I'm guessing around 1,700. I dropped 2/10 a pound this morning for a total of 5.8 pounds in three weeks, two days.

I got a "sweets" urge and made a half batch a carob peanut butter bars. Those were awesome!

Well, We're almost half way through this week.
You guys are doing great!

Have a great Wednesday!

Sincerely,
Sunshine Mama

  1. You are an animal and it is a good thing! Your son is too funny. Honesty is a wonderful thing. He told that coach like it was! I absolutely love that picture of you pregnant in your work out gear. Wait till Mr. Lovely is 18 and you show him what you 2 were doing together! I picket up some millet and some spelt flour yesterday and have big plans for the weekend with it. I may try your pancakes, but for sure those burgers. I'll let you know how things turn out. I'm going to do a little research on different ideas. I might do your pancakes Saturday morning. Greg hasn't tried much of what I'm eating. He thinks it is "gross." Maybe I should tell him your kids try it all! HA! He wouldn't even try an organic homemade chocolate chip cookie! What am I going to do with that boy? He is all Wisconsin! I call it the meat and cheese meal plan. He is very passionate about trying variety of cheeses all the time. I bet Daddy Rainmaker can relate!

We have a snowy day here. Snow, ice, snow, and more snow. I'm a little nervous to head to work, but a bulk of the snow isn't coming until after work. Greg called earlier to say the roads were slick. I drive a small, old Honda Civic which does not like winter weather. Going to go slow and steady and if it gets too bad, I can have Greg pick me up at work. At least it's not a Monday = ) Hope you guys have a great (snow-free) day!

  2. I think the coach is right. You are an animal but one great one! You make me feel lazy & I think I need to read this blog in the afternoon when I am feeling lazy. Might get by butt of the coach. Maybe I need a poster of you. That would motivate me!
