Today I wanted to talk about using prized outfits as a motivational tool in your fitness journey. I have done this with some outfits, but it is usually a pair of jeans that I aim to fit into.
But this time around there is this one outfit that really gets me cranked. If your recall I bought this last year from my sister who sells vintage clothing. I saw it on a model and wanted it. There is a suit jacket that goes with it.
I am 12 weeks pregnant in this phot0 and was barely able to squeeze into it. What my sister will do is actually have some of the vintage things in her store personally tailored to fit people. This particular outfit was tailored to fit the model who was my height, weight and physique. And of course the thing about vintage is that there are only so many out there. So, I snatched up it for $40 with the intention of fitting into it once I had Mr. Lovely.
Well, guess what?
I've had Mr. Lovely.
For those of you who are not already doing this...do what I do. Get out the calendar, is there an event coming up that might coincide with an outfit that you've been wanting to wear?
There is an event coming up with our eight-year-old son who sings in a choir on March 19.
That is ten weeks away. And I need to lose a good 22 pounds to fit into this outfit by that date. If you look close, you'll notice my belly is a-sticking out a little because of Mr. Lovely, so maybe this will fit if I can get down there by then. (Unless of course I get pregnant before then, ha, ha just kidding, just kidding!!!) Well, I feel like if I can do it,
I will be sliding in right under the wire...
I mean so close will I be that if it doesn't fit
me by March 19, it will fit me a few weeks after that.
This is one of those outfit that if I'm too big...
well, then too bad. Ha!! Ha!!
So, that's the one goal I have.
The other goal is to look good for the family pictures.
We got these taken in March last year.
So, come March... probably April, we will be taking
pictures again that I want to look good for.
Does anyone have an outfit they have there eye on?

-----------------------------------------------------
Well, today went well. I gained actually about 4/10 a pound,
but I still have, overall lost about 4 pounds in the first week of my diet.
In the past I have found, that after the first week of a new diet, I will see no loss for several days.

However, I am eating clean, so I am curious to see if that will have an affect on the rate of weight loss. I'm hoping the weight will drop faster.
So, to recap today...I ran 2 1/2 miles, did a 55 minute leg work-out, did abs, did four sets of 15 push-ups, the first two sets were girl style and the second were boy style.
So far today I've consumed 1,580 calories. I may eat more tonight...haven't decided.

good luck with your goals!
ReplyDeleteI got to the gym and did 50 minutes of cardio yesterday - it's a start!
ReplyDeletegood luck with your goal!!!! I seem to be stuck in a rut with no sign of breaking free.
ReplyDeleteThat suit is fierce! I am loving the look.
ReplyDeleteI have a question today. I figured if anyone would know, it would be you. First of all, I felt lazy tonight. I DID NOT want to go to the gym, BUT I did! I did 2 1/2 miles on the elliptical trainer and ran 2 1/2 miles. After I run, I feel exhausted, sweaty, and like I've accomplished something. After 2 1/2 miles on the elliptical, although sweaty, I don't feel like I've accomplished so much. It's not as hard for me. I still burnt around 250 calories and was on there for about 25 minutes. Any ideas why running feels so much tougher? So much better?
I'm guessing it's because running is high impact and elliptical is low impact?
What are your thoughts? Don't feel obligated to respond right away or anything, just something that makes me wonder.
I'd LOVE your right now body! Your body is a testament to how you worked it pre-pregnancy. Very inspiring Mama.
