Join Me For Another 10 Weeks! This is the first week of ten weeks starting October 22, 2012

Hi folks! I'm at it again. I'm going for another 20 pound loss in ten weeks. I've recently had another baby, a little girl, she is now five months old and I'm ready to drop some weight.

Where I've Been...

Hello friends!
In case my dad is reading this, "Thank God you're feeling better. We love you!"
This photo was taken on Thanksgiving. We brought all the kids to the hospital to see my dad who five days before that was flown into a special hospital for emergency care because his kidneys were failing him.

I had all these wonderful aspirations to do this post last week when it was timely, but I am quickly realizing that nothing seems to be happening on time because of having a newborn. But my dad spent a week in the hospital before being discharged. So, we spent part of Thanksgiving at my mom's house...

And then went for a little road trip and visited Dad in the hospital.

This is Mr. Lovely on Thanksgiving Day.

And then, this next photo is just a few days ago.

If you think he looks like he's wearing a little baby fat...

You would be correct.
He weighed over 8 1/2 pounds this last Thursday which means he's gained over two pounds since birth.

I have made a few feeble attempts at trying to diet.
In fact, I've been eating a LOT of food and everything I eat doesn't seem to reflect itself on the scale. I take that to mean that all those additional calories are being turned into breast milk to feed Mr. Lovely.
Our son officially turned four weeks old this week and I've managed to work out at the gym once so far.
I actually had a bit of a crisis happen to me this week that revolved around me not getting enough sleep and trying to do too much. I know...you all find that hard to believe, but one of the reasons I can't seem to keep up on my blog is sleep deprivation, quite simply.
So, for the past few days, everyone has been "making me" sleep in, take naps in the afternoon, take naps in the evening. In fact, I think I'm caught up. It's just weird to walk around the house, now and not feel like I have grit in my eyes anymore.
So, what did I do with all this extra energy?
I made some yeast donuts of course.
I fried them in the deep fat fryer.
In my opinion, they were just "ok".
I have a long way to go before I can get my donuts to taste like the kind I like at the store.
(not that I should be making that an aspiration of mine. Ha!)
Although, everyone else seemed to think they tasted great.

Well, it's my sincere hope to make it to the gym this coming week or to get in some kind of exercise. I'm trying to not be too hard on myself if I don't get in the exercise the way I want to get it in. At this point, it's really important that I get in my sleep before I get in the exercise.
Well, enough catch-up for now folks!
Our first snowfall happened today.
I hope you're all enjoying the weather!
Sincerely,
Sunshine Mama

  3. That is Darling Rose on the Piano. She is unbeleivably gifted and talented daughter. She has a well rounded skill set and she is not going to have to scrap and claw and make up for defiencies like her Father Daddy Rainmaker or maybe the other flowers. It's going to be more like things are going to gravitate to her and naturally flow from her and she is going to be highly successful and a greatly successful like her Mom "THE SUNSHINE MAMA" ..Daddy Rainmaker

  4. What a beautiful family you have. You are so very blessed, Sunshine Mama! I know Mr. Lovely is keeping you very, very busy, not to mention the holiday season. Remember to take a little you time. I'm so glad your family is making you do just that. Keep taking things one step at a time and as baby grows and as you grown as a mother of 6!!! all will fall into place.

Best wishes to your dad. I will keep him in my prayers.

  5. Glad your dad is feeling better, and I'm also very glad you have such a wonderful family taking care of you.

Little Sunshine is adorable. Handsome as ever!

I hope you are enjoying these days with him, and don't fret about the dieting and weight-loss and getting to the gym. Those things will come in time.

    Glad you're doing better!

  6. What a cutie!

About getting to the gym, it's always more important to get the sleep in. Besides, I hear you burn a lot of calories breast feeding so consider that your workout.

I'm glad your dad is doing okay.
